Multiplicity, Counterforce, Dual Citizenship, Junction of Opposites, Incandescence, Enchantment, Symbol: words that are now almost mantras, notions that have been swarming through the processes undertaken by Vera Mantero and her guests since 2021, from the play O Susto é um Mundo, through Um pequeno exercício de composição (2023), and more recently through __ chãocéu | (2024). Works where friction is created between different categories, oscillations between different realms, incandescence at the intersection of different spheres and domains, and which place us on the threshold of the unconscious, allowing us a near-entry into the world of dreams. Abstract figures and symbols intersect side by side with common everyday actions; bodies are transformed at the intersection with objects and the poetic word. It is in these intersections and counterforces that our capacity for change is tested—the translation of destructive energy into an energy of openness and detachment, pivotal points that will continue to be explored in “C.C. (Crematistics and Counterforce).”
